Fundação Irene Rolo celebrates strength, resilience and passion of adapted sports athletes with a Photo Exhibition.
The Irene Rolo Foundation will organize, in partnership with the Tavira Plaza Shopping Center, a photography exhibition, open to the public, from June 21st to July 22nd, in the aforementioned shopping center. The Exhibition is titled “Beyond the barriers” and the authors of the photos are: Ana Gouveia and Mário Rui Gouveia. The exhibition celebrates the strength, resilience and passion of the Irene Rolo Foundation’s adapted sport athletes. We intend to demonstrate to the community that disability is not disabling, nor does it impede participation in human activities, even the most physically and technically demanding ones. We promote inclusion and equality, showing that sport is for everyone, regardless of their abilities. The 12 photos portray the modalities promoted by the Irene Rolo Foundation, within the scope of the Center for Activities and Training for Inclusion (CACI), which we now indicate: Boccia; Adapted handball; Adapted swimming; Adaptation to the aquatic environment; Archery; Athletics; Walk; Dance; Adapted Physical Activity; Polybat; Boxing and Acrobatic Gymnastics. The promotion of these activities takes place in partnership with local entities/clubs, namely the Municipality of Tavira, the Clube de Vela de Tavira, Tavira Natação Clube and the Associação do Sul de Desportos de Combate. Sport is fundamental for physical and emotional well-being, in addition to being a tool that facilitates the social inclusion of people with disabilities.
