The Irene Rolo Foundation (FIR) marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, on December 3rd, with a set of initiatives that aim to raise awareness among the community about inclusion and promote the recognition of the skills and talents of people with disabilities.
The activities begin in the morning with the distribution of bracelets with the motto “Live your difference“, in action that takes place at Escola D. Paio Peres Correia, in the city center of Tavira and at the Market Municipal, involving the community in a reflection on the importance of the rights of people with deficiency. Still in the morning, the FIR Self-Determination Group participates in a special program on Radio Gilão, sharing experiences and discussing the challenges and achievements of people with disabilities, reinforcing the role of social inclusion in building a fairer society. The initiative continues in the afternoon at the Tavira Plaza Shopping Center, where an exhibition and live creation of nativity scenes, highlighting the talent and artistic potential of people with disabilities supported by the Foundation. This initiative offers the community the opportunity to appreciate and purchase pieces creative, while promoting the appreciation of inclusive artistic work.
With this diverse program, the Irene Rolo Foundation invites the entire community to join the celebrations and reflecting on the importance of accepting and celebrating differences.
