On September 15 began the Project Tavira Integra+, which will be boosted by Irene Rolo Foundation, in partnership with Tavira Municipality. The project will run until December 31, 2022 and will be funded by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration – FAMI and the High Commission for Migration, I.P.
At a time when there is a major change in migratory flows, essentially with the arrival of immigrants from Asia and other continents, to meet the labour needs of the municipality of Tavira, it is essential to develop a set of activities aimed at the social integration of this population. Thus, the project proposes to promote actions such as: sports and cultural activities, Portuguese language courses, thematic workshops (health care, road safety, employability, recognition and validation of professional and academic skills, gastronomy, among others), commemoration of local events, awareness sessions with employers, among others.
In order to guarantee the sustainability of the project, the creation of an association of immigrants was foreseen, to continue supporting this population.
Working in partnership plays a fundamental role in the dynamics of the project, in order to achieve an integrated response to the needs of the immigrant population.
